Agartala, Sept 20 (TIWN): The traditional Diwali Festival and Fair is scheduled to be held at Matabari, Udaipur here on October 23 and 24 respectively. Aiming to make the fair and festival successful, a preparation meeting was held in the conference hall of Panchayat Samiti presided over by MLA Madhab Saha.

A working committee was formed consisting of 134 members and MLA Madhab Saha was elected the Chairman. SDM Ajit Debnath was elected the member Secretary. Advisory and Management committee was formed in the preparation meet considering Diwali festival.

Besides, 9 sub-committees were formed. In the meeting the committee members were urged to look after the facilities of devotees, peace and order as well centering round the festival. Addressing the meeting, MLA Madhab Saha said, “Deepawali, one of the brightest and biggest festivals is followed with the gathering of devotees in and outside the state. It is the festival of lights that illuminates the country with its brilliance and dazzles all with its joy”.  He urged the committee members to cooperate in order to make the festival successful.

Gomati Zilla Sabhadhipati Suniti Saha, Matabari Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Rekha Rani Majumder, BAC Chairman Daharam Reang, Tepania Panchayat Samiti Chairman Bijan Chakraborty, DM of Gomati district Sonal Goel and SDM Ajit Debnath along with officials from different departments remained present there in the meeting.
