AGARTALA, September 20 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has urged the elected representatives to from a cordial relation with the people at large. “Without the involvement of the people no development works in state can take place and taking the common people alongwith all sort of public utility works ranging from drinking water, irrigation top health, education and housing should take placeâ€, commented Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, after inaugurating the newly built Panchayat Raj Training Institute (PRTI) at Ambassa of Dhalai district, yesterday.
The administrative facility has been built at a cost of over RS, 10 crore under the Backward Region Grant Fund. The two storied building will be utilizes d to impart skill development training to the elected Panchayat members of , for materialising all the developmental works of the state government at the grass root level to make the essential civic facilitates reach to the people in a broader way. Apart from asking the elected members from the recently held three tier Panchayat election, not to encourage any sort of corruption, he also advised them to implement all the public welfare works through their skill and ensuring utmost honesty and sincerity.
For achieving the objective of human resource development, the Chief Minister has directed the elected representatives of the people to work towards the development of the Anganwadi Kendras through making drinking water, proper nourishment for the infants and expecting mothers, sanitation and education facilities available. Furthermore, he has also urged the MLAs to visit the schools once in a week so that the schools problems and needs can be given attention. Panchayet Raj minister Manik Dey, MLA Bijoy Laxmi Sinha, and DM Dr. Milind Ramteke were also present in the inauguration Programme. Director (Panchayet) Pramath Ranjan Bhattacherjee conveyed the welcome address of the programme.
