KOLKATA / GUWAHATI / NEW DELHI, September 19 (TIWN): The CBI has taken suo moto cognisance of the multi-crore RMSA scam in Tripura.Senior CBI officials in NorthEast regional office say they have forwarded detailed media reports on the scam to their headquarters in Delhi."We have now been asked to investigate this alleged scam," said one CBI official but he was unwilling to be named. The CBI official said that the RMSA scam apparently points to a long-happening case of corruption and siphoning off Central funds meant for improvement of school infrastructure.He said the CBI is also looking into reports of huge assets amassed by few retired and senior IAS,IPS officers, Ministers and several other state officers that includes real estate properties in Agartala, Kolkata, Delhi."These are cases of wealth of officers clearly disproportionate to their known sources of income. They will be investigated as part of the new Modi government's drive to clean up government and punish corrupt officials," the official said.

     On the other hand even if cheques have been issued with forged signatures, is there none to check the accounts regularly? Here comes the twist. According to a top level Melarmath leadership ," The Accounts Officer Debasish Dam is the responsible officer to maintain all the accounts and payments updated . Has he done his duty properly? Surely not as in that case Arnab's issue would have come to the lime light much before. Actually Debasish Dam, a resident of Bhati Abhoynagar area has been made the Accounts Officer under the recommendation of a heavy weight minister and thus no body dares to touch him." Interestingly the recommendation has also been made to the Principal Secretary through Director. Thus, the root of corruption is in very deep and if police is given full freedom in investigation , it would really be a Saradha like menace to the LF Govt ( as it is now for TMC Govt in Bengal). The Melarmath source also indicates that purely with a malicious tendencies Ambalika Datta has been suspended but now as Arnab Chakraborty is under police grip , some of the heavy weights are spending 'Sleepless nights' . Moreover, if Ambalika Datta challenges her suspension order in the High Court ( according to TIWN sources in the School Education Department  suspended officer is heading towards legal proceedings ) in the High Court, Department is sure to receive another hammering.

      Although everyone was aware of Arnab's illegal activities and on 21/07/2014 Addl Director D K Debbarma issued ' Show Cause ' notice against Arnab and on 05/08/2014 Joint Director Manabendra Chakraborty recommended for Departmental Procedure(DP) against Arnab and the both these matters were addressed to Director P K Chakraborty. And if Director says that he has not informed the Principal Secretary Rajeswar Rao or Principal Secretary himself denies of being informed, it will be the 'Latest Wonder of the World'. What is more interesting is that the 'Show Cause ' notice was issued on 21/07/2014 and on 24/07/2014 in the darkness of night fire broke out in the Kakbarok Cell of School Education Department. According to the eye-witnesses it was Arnab who was the criminal behind this fire. Now the question arises why Arnab would have set fire in Kakbarok Cell. That too is equally interestingly. The eye witnesses informed ," Arnab's chamber was close to Kakbarok Cell and it may be that due to darkness he might have broken the window of the Kakbarok Cell( as it was found after the incident) mistakenly instead of the window of  his own chamber( located at a distance of 1.5ft from the window of Kakrabok Cell) and put the ball of fire from outside." Soon after the fire incident all employees suggested to take action against Arnab . Mysteriously Director remained silent on this issue. Now another question is raised. Is the Director not interested to take steps against Arnab or the Director has been instructed not to initiate any step against Arnab?
