AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Only from West District 3.75 lakhs have been collected by CPI-M till day for flood hit Kerala, CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar said on Monday.
CPI-M had started the collection from August 21 and it will be continued till August 31st. In 8 Districts the collection have been started.
However, the CPI-M leaders faced attacks at Agartala, Belonia while collecting funds for flood-hit Kerala. But the party will continue this collection, said Pabitra Kar.
“Kerala flood needs 25 cr for recovering. Tripura Govt has given 1 cr only. Central Govt has said only 600 cr will be given”, he added.
“People are willingly donating. CPI-M activists at least have given 100 rupees without asking. Till now only in the west district 2.75 lakhs have been collected. We ourselves are giving”, Kar said.
