AGARTALA, Aug 26 (TIWN): MGNREGA works are facing sharp down under the BJP govt as Tripura has dropped from No-1 to No-27. It has been known that in last 5 months not even 10 days of MGNREGA works were given in few places.

Earlier, Tripura continuously was in top position in MGNREGA works, but this year following the election session and minimum mandays per month since four months, the MGNREGA performance report has slipped Tripura’s name from No-1 to No-27.

Right now Telangana is in the top position in MGNREGA works this year.

However, the performance also covered 6 months of CPI-M Govt’s performance of 2017, whereas since last four months poor people in Tripura are suffering due to no rega works.

Recently Tripura Ex-Finance Minister, CPI-M MLA Badal Choudhury has slammed the 5 months old BJP Govt accusing it for creating a jobless, work-less era in its five months of ruling in the state. Lack of MGNREGA works, down in economy and markets have left the poor people without work opportunities and less profit

It has been revealed that poor people in border areas are illegally going to Bangladesh in search of work as Tripura hills, deep rural areas’ economy has been deteriorating since the pre-election season and worsen after the new Govt came.
