Tripura celebrates 72nd Independence Day

AGARTALA, Aug 15 (TIWN): Along with the whole nation, Tripura also celebrated 72nd Independence day across school, colleges and in all govt / private organizations.
The main programme was held at Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala. Chief Minister Biplab Deb has hoisted the flag at there to mark the celebration.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Biplab Deb also conferred the Police medals to Tripura Police officials. This is the first Independence Day by the new Govt here in the state.
Patriotic songs were reverted as the tricolour was unfurled at government offices and education institutions.
Elaborate security arrangements, including setting up of check-posts at strategic locations, have been made in and around the city for the day.
