AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): With a major Police breakthrough, Arundhuti (AD) Nagar Police led by SDPO Ajay Kumar Das has cracked down a duplicate Phensedyl manufacturing illegal factory which was engaged in illegal domestic profits. A nine members' gang of duplicate phensedyl manufacturers were caught red-handed from an illegal factory on Tuesday here in the capital city Agartala. Police Officer at there has claimed it as a major success when Police Dept is opting for a drug-free, addiction-free society. The main culprit Subir Majumder (Abu) S/O-Lt Surya Majumder along with his eight staffs were arrested from Mission Road of Saha Para in AD Nagar. The factory of the cough syrup was also sealed. SDPO Ajay Kumar Das said, "Since many days police were searching after the gang which was spreading these duplicate cough syrups inside Tripura. These items are domestically consumed, not linked with any smuggling, but now the Kingpin has to be found it. Police is working to find out from where the originals are coming and where these duplicate products were going".

Police have arrested the culprits on the spot who were manufacturing, labeling the bottles inside the factory. 

SDPO also said, it's the main factory in this area and with the shutting down of it, many phensedyl consumptions likely to be stopped.

Such drives will be continued and police is now going into much details of the network. Investigation is going on.
