AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Tuesday while addressing in a seminar held on 'Gender Sensitization' at Pragna Bhawan said, "In villages crime rates are less because the society controls everything and a person will never be respected in future if in childhood s/he did some bad work".
"A tomato thief will always be called a tomato thief even after becoming old. In school-life his / her life becomes suffocating after such wrong doings. Even if s/he gets first-division nobody forgets about tomato-theft incident", CM said.
"Rural parts of the state suffer less than town areas because people at there slap the culprits on spot" CM said.
"Village also has a beautiful custom by 'outcasting', 'alienating' wrong-doers people from the society", he said.
"In last 25-30 years there were many attempts to break that culture. The society's beautiful rule was tried to be broken, but they could not break the customs finally. Indian society is linked with the customs and one can not deny that. Police can not go to each home", the CM added.
