AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): National Commission of Women member Sushma Sahu on Tuesday during a seminar held on 'Gender Sensitization' at Pragna Bhawan raised question why amid so many new laws crime ratio are increasing rather than decreasing.

"Before you got this Police job, haven't you ever undergone any problem where you saw Police's Ravaiyaa, but after you became police, you have forgotten about all those", she said.

"If a person comes in Police Station rather than showing hard faces, behave with them gently, offer water which will not cost you nothing. You behaviour will give comfort to the person who is in suffer", Sahu added.

"You are not only an official but the mirror of the Govt too. Your activity reflects the administration and that's why sometimes Govt has to answer for your attitude. So, it should be changed", Sahu told Police Officials at there.

"When Law and Order goes out of control, police should be more close to people. Your such behaviour will help the Govt and You both and at the same time it will sustain people", Sahu said.

"Zero-tolerance we can't say, but in compare to other states, Tripura's crime is less and it's population is too less. Police officials should be classified with their unique talents and should be given tasks according to that", she added.
