BJP leader showers anger on Medha Patkar

AGARTALA, Aug 6 (TIWN): After renowned social activist Medha Patkar has hit the BJP ruled State Govt in Tripura, BJP General Secretary Pratima Bhowmik said, "Medha Patkar was politically influenced while delivering addressing before media in Agartala".

Amid state Kerala has been announced for having Best Governance, Bhowmik asked Medha Patkar to check the law and order of Kerala.

"We thought that Medha Parkar will say something motivating and will meet our Ministers, MLAs but she just has brought baseless allegations against BJP Govt, which is no so new in the state. Where was she when under CPI-M Govt, people were being killed ? BJP Govt allowed CPI-M to hold rally within 19 days of the Govt formation......... was not it a enough ?", she added.

"In 2007, she herself criticized CPI-M Govt of West Bengal but now she has come to hit us. People love us and Medha Patkar's allegations will not work out", Bhowmik told media.

On yesterday, the Non-BJP fact finding team led by Medha Patkar after completing two days long visit in Tripura told media, Tripura is undergoing undeclared emergency situation.

The “Fact Finding team” comprised of Medga Patkar, leader of the National Alliance of People’s Movement, Rajaram Singh, Ex-MLA),General Secretary of the All India Kishan Mahasabha, Dr Ashok Dhawale, President of the All India Kishan Sabha, MP K K Ragesh accompanied by Tripura MP Jitendra Choudhury, Shankar Prasad Datta, Jharna Das Baidya and by Ex-MP Narayan Kar.

The team visited six of the eight Districts of Tripura and met the people at there.

After the observation the report which placed it said, “It’s clear that an undeclared emergency like situation is going on since the BJP-IPFT Govt has been in power. Law and Order has collapsed. Murders, looting, atrocities crime against women are on spike”.

“An atmosphere of terror and violence is hovering across the state and the Left is the main target”, the team said.

The team met hundreds of people who were physically attacked. 

Four CPI-M supporters have been killed since the Govt formation : 1) Tapas Sutradhar, 2) Rakesh Dhar, 3) Pradip Deb Barma, 4) Ajendra Reang.
