AGARTALA, Aug 5 (TIWN): Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Tripura unit declared that they do not have any problem with NRC in Assam and Bangladeshis must have to leave India, but till then everybody should be given voting rights.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President M.T.Rahman in a press conference held in Gedu Mia Mosque said that for voting rights of the people at there, their leaders are appealing in the Supreme Court.
However, the press conference was called demanding peace and harmony during Eid, expressing concerns about the ongoing cattle slaughter related issues in state Tripura.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President M.T.Rahman said, “India is a secular country. In whole world, India is known for its secularism and unity. Uncountable Muslim martyrs took birth in this country. Freedom fighters were killed, jailed”.
“But now it has been noticed that a section of people are trying to destroy the peace and harmony, which is not a good sign for our country and matter of worry”
“In Tripura since the beginning we were living in harmony beyond Tribal, Bengali, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhists, Christians. But now centering the cattle-issues a section of people are trying disturb the peace of the land, which is extremely unfortunate”.
“Jamiat Ulma is an apolitical group. So we have certain demands for the welfare for people”, he said.
Their demands are :
- Govt should be strictly deal with cow, goat slaughtering related disturbances,
- Govt should take pre-action to stop all chances of untoward incident in the Eid centering cow-slaughtering,
- The religion places which do not have proper documents, Govt should make documents for them,
- To take care of people’s fundamental rights,
- To secure the property of the wakf.
