AGARTALA, Aug 4 (TIWN): It was a 'blunder' by West District Police by accepting the unstable law and order condition of the state, while it denied SSA teachers for giving permission to gather at Rabindra Bhawan on Saturday. After the blunder, when the letter was leaked, Police in the evening had permitted SSA teachers to hold their programme in front of Rabindra Bhawan. But amid ruling BJP's claim about 'no violence' in Tripura, the letter itself revealed that police is not confident about law and order situation of the state. If police denies 'weak law and order', then it will be proven that police's role is not unbiased and they are working on behalf of ruling party to suppress the oppositions voice, which the CPI-M has been claiming. On Wednesday night along with Laxmi Narayan Bari, another local’s home was looted but till now, Capital city’s cops have remained clueless about the culprits.

Infact every day various theft cases are being lodged in Agartala and above 100 theft incidents are recorded each day across the small states proven lack of policing, security.

After the Laxmi Narayan Bari was looted questions raising if this is condition of capital city’s heart places liked Royal Palace what will be the condition of urban and rural areas.

On yesterday BJP-IPFT backed SSA teachers who were to observed the 7 days long hunger strike’s 1st anniversary at Rabindra Bhawan in the presence of Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Revenue Minister NC Debbarma with demands of "Regularization", were not allowed to hold the programme and just ahead of the programme police told the teachers that due to the Law and Order problem in state, they can not give the permission for SSA’s gathering. The teachers have been shocked with the attitude of the Govt, who were morally supported by BJP, IPFT both during hunger strike in last year against CPI-M Govt and on that time Ratan Lal Nath openly announced that once their Govt is in power, they will regularize the SSA teachers.

SSA teachers raised question, “Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath himself promised to attend the programme, but even after his assurance police denied. Didn’t the Law Minister know about the state’s law and order condition?”

“Protesting, expressing views and placing demand are democratic rights. How can the Govt stop voice in dictatorship way ? That means what the CPI-M is alleging, is true ? We felt bad with the incident. It was unexpected from the new Govt”, SSA teachers.

After police’s acceptance on weak law and order condition was exposed and Home Dept’s concern with law and order with innocent SSA teachers gathering planning had come in media limelight, West District Police finally had given permission to the SSA teachers to gather at Agartala in front of Rabindra Bhawan today.
