AGARTALA, Aug 4 (TIWN): When talks are going on about whether Rahul Gandhi and his party is interested to chose Mamata Banerjee as Prime Minister candidate, Tripura Congress has cleared the doubt saying Mamata Banerjee’s name was taken randomly and it can be Mayawati too.

“The Congress would like Rahul Gandhi to be the next prime minister if the BJP doesn't get a majority in the 2019 general election but is open to the idea of supporting the elevation of other leaders from the opposition front including Dalit powerhouse Mayawati and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to the top post”, Congress spokesperson Harekrishna Bhowmik said.

“It was not only Mamata Benerjee whom Rahul Gandhi picked. But he also took Mayawati’s name”, Bhowmik added.
