CPI-M leader who also Khet Mazdoor President Narayna Kar said, “Farmers in Tripura are left in very pathetic condition. Various cabinet meetings were held since the Govt formation, but no discussion had taken place regarding the flood related losses which the farmers had faced recently”.

“Massive crop damages were reported from this flood, but even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi often talks about farmers in Mann Ki Baat and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb also claims to double farmers' incomes but this year the farmers haven’t got the premium even, neither they were facilitated with flood lashed crop damage losses”, he said.

“CPI-M Govt had started an SRI scheme for the farmers which  was praised nation-wide. Under that scheme each farmer got various items and little amount of money for their Agriculture purpose, but the BJP Govt hasn’t taken any initiative to continue it”, Narayan Kar added.

“Various issues as bio-metric, E-rationing are depriving poors from their food rights. MGNREGA works have been stopped. In overall rural economy is on the verge of destruction. Farmers are helpless”, he said.
