AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Teachers of "SSA Welfare Association", one of the political arms by using which the BJP-IPFT had come in power unseating the Left Govt of 25 years in Tripura are now shocked over the attitude of BJP Govt after winning the election. Till day only CPI-M and Congress were alleging that Police is not giving them permission for rallies and protests. But the BJP-IPFT backed SSA teachers who were to observed the 7 days long hunger strike’s 1st anniversary at Rabindra Bhawan in the presence of Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Revenue Minister NC Debbarma tomorrow with demands of "Regularization", were not allowed to hold the programme and just ahead of the programme police told the teachers that due to the Law and Order problem in state, they can not give the permission for SSA’s gathering. The teachers have been shocked with the attitude of the Govt, who were morally supported by BJP, IPFT both during hunger strike in last year against CPI-M Govt and on that time Ratan Lal Nath openly announced that once their Govt is in power, they will regularize the SSA teachers.
SSA teachers raised question, “Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath himself promised to attend the programme, but even after his assurance police denied. Didn’t the Law Minister know about the state’s law and order condition?”
The teachers have expressed extreme resentment on the intention of the BJP Govt with SSA teachers. They also doubted that Govt has planned to stop the voice of employees.
“Protesting, expressing views and placing demand are democratic rights. How can the Govt stop voice in dictatorship way ? That means what the CPI-M is alleging, is true ? We felt bad with the incident. It was unexpected from the new Govt”, another SSA teacher complained.
However, police have now accepted Law and Order in Tripura is not stable, whereas BJP is claiming Tripura is undergoing “Rule of Law”.
