AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Manoj Deb has expressed shocks over the unannounced strike called by BJP backed Oil-Tanker Mazdoor Sangh for an uncertain period of time which has already started an acute petrol crisis in the state. The Minister has assured that Govt’s promise of “No Petrol Crisis” in state will be kept and said it’s very surprising and sad that they (Mazdoor Sangh) has called a strike even without taking permission from the state govt, neither they informed the Dept regarding that. Addressing media, Manoj Deb on Thursday evening said, “We are sympathetic to them and in all of their demands we will go through, but the strike has to be withdrawn; otherwise common men will ultimately suffer. We’ll not let the state to suffer from petrol crisis anymore”.Workers under Oil-Tanker Mazdoor Sangh had started a strike today for an uncertain period of time. With 5 demands the Oil Tanker Mazdoor Sangh has gone in strike, till their demands are fulfilled.

Their 5 demands are : 1) Salary hike, 2) P.F. to be launched for workers, 3) Medical allowances for oil tanker workers, 4) Weekly holiday, 5) To launch pension for them.

But on the Day-1 acute petrol crisis has hit the petrol pumps led the buyers queued up in lines. Even though state should have 1 week's enough fuel storage how, petrol crisis started from on Day-1 of strike it has raised question and resentments, when state is habituated in black marketing of fuel.

Thousands of buyers are standing in rows in front of various petrol pumps of the Capital city, whereas other subdivisions' conditions are also same.

Tripura faced a dry season of petrol for 2 / 3 months long in August, July months of 2017. On that time, people had to wait for whole night to collect fuel in the next morning. So whenever, petrol crisis starts, 2017's crisis-era haunts he consumers.

However, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs himself has now interfered assuring the public that there will be no petrol crisis.
