AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): In a daring theft, criminals stolen jewelry from Tripura Royal family's auspicious Laxminarayan Bari Temple located in heart of State Capital. In a continuation of crime spree across State by various criminal gangs, once again DGP A.K. Sukla and Chief Minister Biplab Deb's loud claims of safe law & order turned a joke as thieves are looting temples by showing middle finger to Tripura Police. In Tripura’s history it’s the first time, from temple like Laxmi Narayan Bari, known as the den of devotees have been looted mercilessly. According to the spot information, each and every item of the main temple have been looted including the crowns of Gods, Goddesses.

All gold made items were taken away by looters on yesterday(wednesday) midnight. 

Getting informed, police rushed to the spot in the morning and are checking everything. Few jewelleries were recovered in front of the Town Hall lined “Kar Bhawan” (Income Tax Office) road’s drain, but the major parts of the items have been stolen. 

Public have expressed resentment on police role during night hours. Whether there was any police on road on Wednesday night ? Or the action was done by looters with Police’s help, questions raising. Such incidents never happened in state and especially with such a temple which is located on the heart of Agartala city. Police is “clueless” about the miscreants.

West Agartala Police Station OC-Subrata Chakraborty is on the spot. Police right now is unwilling to talk much to the media as they are going the investigation right now.

Border areas and various other spots have been kept under strict vigilance. Tension, resentments have hit the common people.

Another house in that area was also looted in night.

When Police and administration are busy in bulldozing opposition’s party offices, God’s houses are looted in Biplab Deb’s Ram Rajya.
