AGARTALA, Aug 1 (TIWN): After two days of silence over Assam's drafting of NRC which marked 40 lakh Assam residents as foreigners, Tripura opposition CPI-M first time talked before the media regarding NRC.

Badal Choudhury blasted the Assam Govt saying, “After 72 years of independence people are identifying as Indian and Foreigner, which included Ex- President of India late Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed’s family members, who were MLAs”

“Where they will go ? Bangladesh weak, so you will push those 40 lakhs people at there ? Is is possible ? NRC is unrealistic, just a fairy tale.........”, he added.

Mentioning Supreme Court’s interruption on yesterday’s hearing on NRC, Badal Choudhury said, SC Justice Ranjan Gogoi himself has interrupted NRC related action and Gogoi is originated from Assam. He knows about Assam better than us.

“Now let’s see, what the BJP does or even they will surpass Supreme Court’s order……”, the CPI-M Ex-Minister said.

“Forget everything. Just think about those 40 lakhs people and how they are feeling now in Assam”, Choudhury told media.
