AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb even though travelled and compensated Rs 5 Lakhs RSS activist at Kerala from State Govt fund ahead of Kerala local body election on May 24, but Chief Minister yet to meet the lynching victim families in Tripura nor he condoled to all lynching families, rather when he was asked on lynching twice, he suggested the journalists not to ask him negative questions. At Agartala Airport’s renaming programme on July 4, CM rather than condoling lynching directly told media that Tripura is undergoing ‘Anand Ki Leher’ and asked the journalist to feel it. This statement led countrywide criticism against Tripura Chief Minister.Congress Presdient Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the latest lynching incident in Rajasthan's Alwar represents Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "brutal New India". The incident came to light on Saturday. "Policemen in Alwar took three hours to get a dying Rakbar Khan, the victim of a lynch mob, to a hospital just six km away. Why? They took a tea-break en route. This is Modi's brutal 'New India," Gandhi said.
The 'New India,' the Congress chief alleged, is where "humanity is replaced with hatred and people are crushed and left to die."
Today CPI-M will stage Dharna in front of the Parliament against ‘lynching’. CPI-M National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said that the protest to mark a condemnation on behalf of Left Parties against Tripura’s lynching, terror and violence under Biplab Deb regime and also the lawless era of the West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee’s ruling.
Ruling BJP however has termed the planned protest of CPI-M as an “intrigue” by Left Parties to malign the image of Tripura at national level.
