AGARTALA, July 19 (TIWN): The recently leaked Medical seat allocation scam in Tripura under state colleges has hit the medical course aspirant students. SFI on Thursday held a massive protest demanding cancellation of outsiders' names from the admission list and also demanded a review of the seat allocations.
In a deputation placed to the Director of Medical Education, SFI said, “We are concerned with the seat allocations for Medical courses. How other states’ students names have been selected for Tripura Colleges it’s a matter of concern and we need a clear statement on it”.
According to SFI, Dept of Medical Education has cancelled 9 students' names. Later, with another notification one of them was given relaxation for the admission. ‘If all the student is from Tripura, then why in the first notification other names were cancelled ?’, says SFI.
SFI also has demanded proper investigation in student Sudip Biswas’s death case and said, the authority must be punished for negligence, who didn’t take Sudip in hospital timely.
At the same time, SFI has demanded to decrease the fees of Tripura Medical College which has hiked now at Rs. 38 lakhs.
