AGARTALA, July 19 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M has been continuing sharp attacks on BJP Govt after it has implemented a new pension rule depriving many pension benefits like GPF, Govt liabilities from July 1, 2018 which was drafted from National pension Scheme (NPS) of 2004. Demanding immediate cancellation of the New Pension Rules and filling up of 50,000 vacant posts, which BJP promised before election, ADC Chief Executive Member Radha Charan Debbarma told TIWN, “BJP Govt’s this move has been very cruel and inhuman for the pensioners, which has left the future generation’s oldage under dark. Before the Election PM Modi says Tripura to get Hira but now resulted in coals”. “Ideologically, we will never support BJP Govt’s New pension policy which is totally against the public will. The persons who will help the Govt with his/her full strength till s/he becomes old, the Govt will leave them in dark at their old age after retirement. The BJP Govt has been fascist since the beginning and by introducing NPS it has taken another step of fascism". “NPS will not only stop the pension but it will also close die-in-harness system".

“NPS will not only stop the pension but it will also close die-in-harness system. what kind of rule it is that after 33 years a person can not continue his job ? Moreover in addition BJP Govt has added that after 50 years, all Govt employees will be judged for performance ? If a person is not physically fit than his / her job will be snatched without pension and this is exact way that BJP Govt is going ahead with fascist tricks”.

“BJP Govt will give jobs who can only pass the tests for their 'Hira-criteria' and rest will get only coals. There is no attempt to provide new jobs”, Radha Charan Debbarma told TIWN.

It can be noted that the State govt has approved the new defined contributory pension scheme to all to all new entrants to state govt service joining on or after 2018, July 1st”.

The New NPS (National Pension Scheme) will also be applicable for fixed pay employees under the state govt who are being appointed to a fixed post appointed created by keeping regular pay post in abeyance on or after July 1st, 2018.

Thus employees joined since July 1st will not come under Central Civil Services rules 1972 as adopted by the Govt of of Tripura. They will not be entitled to GPF (General Provident Fund).

However the law will be applicable only for those employees who will be recruited from July, 2018.

Another CPI-M leader, Ex-Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha told TIWN, “Tripura was the last state to continue pension with its limited capacity except West Bengal. Once the pension scheme is changed, then it will be tough for new state govt to implement the new schemes”.
