Udaipur, September 12 (TIWN): Two day long Chicago Vijay Divas and Teachers' Day celebration ended here in Ramesh Higher Secondary School on Friday. The programme was inaugurated by Swami Praneshwarananda of Ramkrishna Mission & Math, Tripura. The programme was presided over by the Teacher In charge Smt Sucharita Datta. This is the third year of such programme in which students and teachers contributed jointly by publication of Wall Magazine AAGAMEE and also organizing a voluntary blood donation camp and a painting exhibition on Swami Vivekanada - the Real Youth Icon of India. The programme started with the lighting of candle by Swami Praneswarananda Teacher In Charge and Gomati District Blood Bank In Charge Dr Sujit Roy. Sucharita Datta gave away the Welcome Address.

   As part of this programme NSS Unit of the school organized blood donation camp in which 51 volunteers - teachers, students( including 15 girls) donated blood. Inaugurating the Painting Exhibition Swami Praneshwarananda said ," I am glad to see that students of Ramesh School including girls are also contributing with their writings, paintings on Vivekanada and also with donating blood a mission that Swamiji started for helping the dying people." Dr Sujit Roy too expressed his thanks to the young girls who took part in Blood donation.

       Speaking on this occasion as the “Chief Orator” Swami Praneshwarananda said," The zeal and spirit in which Ramesh School observed the Chicago Speech Day( known as Chicago Vijay Divas) is right indication how the teachers of the school are playing their role as social guidance. That's why Ramesh School has been rightly awarded as the best school in the Gomati District by School Education Department, Govt of Tripura. I am extremely happy to be a part of this programme and would like to inform Tripura Ramakrishna Mission- the way you people are showing respect to the great soul of India Swami Vivekanada. "  

The programme came to an end with Teachers' Day Celebration organised by the students of the school. Today 85 persons including current and former teachers, non-teaching staffs have been falicitated by the students. Much to the delight of all the students Swami Praneswarananda sang two devotional songs. At the end of the programme Swami urged the teachers to be more committed in retaining the glory of the being awarded as the Best School as it deserves more effort from all. It is to be mentioned that on 11th September 1893 Swami Vivekananda mesmerised the world in the World Parliament of Religion in Chicago with his electrifying speech. And to mark this occasion Ramesh School observes the day as Chicago Vijay Divas.
