Tripura Govt takes up new plans, projects for Tourism Industry development

AGARTALA, July 17 (TIWN): A crucial meeting has been conducted at the Secretariat on Monday led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb and Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy aimed to boost Tourism. The discussion took place how to propagate on Tripura’s beautiful tourist spots in the country and beyond the country.

In this regard, Chief Minister has instructed Tourism dept officials to start working how to develop the tourist spots and how to make them more tourists friendly. Tourists comforts have been given first priority with world class facilities.

CM also instructed that all the tourists spots which are under Central Govt’s ASI (Archeological Survey of India) should be allowed for free photography space rather than imposing prohibitions on photography. Also PM Modi has instructed for that long back.

“For state’s development, tourism plays an important role”, CM said further suggesting to use modern technology to develop tourism.

Principal Secretary of Tourism  Dept said, “Till now Tripura has 30 tourist lodges among them 14 are under Tourism Development Corporation Limited and 4 are under the state govt”.

CM has laid pressure upon the tourists’ comfort and to develop the service to the tourists.

State has right now 7 cafeterias projects are in hand whereas more three more cafeterias will be opened at Akhaura, Bondowar, Ambassa. CM has instructed to keep South Indian meals at there.

A tourist guide book to be created with details and pictures to draw more numbers of tourists, which will also help the tourists to get a pre-idea about the state’s tourist spots.

CM also advised to invite the National media reporters in state to boost tourism. 

There will be also a ropeway from Matabari to Bhuwaneswari temple.

On Monday Minister Pranajit Singha Roy also visited Neer Mahar, one of the beautiful tourist spots in Tripura and instructed the local administration on new projects and pending projects.

However, the main obstacle in tourism is the ‘roadway’ (transport) and the ‘lodging’, ‘fooding’ arrangement from the tourists.
