AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Amid huge job crisis state’s Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Saturday on the occasion of Ratha-Yatra festival at Iskcon claimed, Tripura will become such a state that it will not only be able to give jobs to own people but each outsider who will come from other states will not return in empty hands. “As in Jagannath Dham, no devotee returns in empty stomach, in the same way nobody will return from Tripura without jobs. Tripura is the first state in Northeast to make a zero-deficit budget. There are other states like Assam, which is indeed much more bigger than Tripura”. “Tripura Govt has announced to give 20 kilo of rice free to the poor and this is the first govt to do this, but the previous govt also could do it but they did not do. It’s really sad when PM Modi is planning to give everyone laptops we are giving people food, so much of poverty is existing here”, CM added.“Oppositions ask me often where is house-to-house jobs. I want to tell them, people have given me 5 years to fulfill all promises”, he added.

When Chief Minister is claiming that all will get job once they come in Tripura in reality the unemployment rate is further increasing in state with more graduates and HS passed outs in this year. Centre For Monitoring Indian Economy Pvt. Ltd (CMIE) monthly report has once again topped Tripura with 22.8 %, which is not only highest in the country but also at least 6 % more than the second ranking state in unemployment Haryana 16.8 %.

In the 3rd ranking it’s Jammu & Kashmir with 13.2 % whereas Himachal Pradesh comes with 11.8 % and Rajasthan with 10.1 %. Other states of India ranks below 9 % whereas Goa, Puducherry have no unemployment. This was the report of last 30 days according to CMIE. Tripura's top-ranking is however continuing from last few financial years. However, the ruling govt has alleged a total collapse of state economy in the last 20-30 years where govt job was kept as the single option for livelihood. In this situation, how far the new govt will be able to invite industrialists and manage foreign investments in state, it’s the most challenging job for the govt.

Moreover, with the increasing graduates years after years the unemployment tolls are raising further.

Recently, CM led Home Dept ordered police to arrest above 1000 unemployed youths who gathered to meet him as their jobs were pending even after 1 year of selection.
