AGARTALA / UDAIPUR, July 1 (TIWN): Tripura Congress President Birjit Sinha on Sunday slammed Assam BJP Govt for implementing NRC and harassing Bengalis, claiming further Assam elections will unseat BJP surely as the party has lost its Bengali votebanks at there. Addressing in a meeting held at Udaipur subdivision of Gomati District in Tripura, Birjit Sinha said, “Congress will surely form a govt at Assam in the next election as people at there are frustrated of BJP’s misruling. The NRC has overnight turned Indian citizens into foreigner, which is morally, ethically unjustified in a country like India where integrity is the biggest quality.Surely, in the next election Congress will win as not a single Bengali in Assam will not vote for BJP, but in last Assembly Election maximum Bengalis voted for BJPâ€.
Criticizing Tripura BJP, Birjit Sinha said, “The BJP here came with various big, big promises. Knowing fully well all the promises they can not fulfill, BJP made bundles of promises. Now the people are frustrated with BJP’s fake pre-election fake promises”.
Birjit Sinha was addressing in a joining programme where over 1000 people had joined BJP leaving CPI-M.
Sinha further said, “For long 25 years, CPI-M’s misruling had crippled the hopes of people in Tripura. With BJP’s Cholo-Paltai slogan they changed the govt but the situation is worsening more. Across the state now people are joining in Congress”.
Birjit Sinha also criticized the Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath for his irresponsible statement given before media led the law and order of the state paralyzed.
