AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): Assam Rifles organised a number of events to commemorate World Environment Day Tuesday. Rallies were organised alongwith School Children & civil dignatries at Agartala, Dharmanagar & Udaipur to spread the theme ‘Beat plastic Pollution’. Tree plantation drives were conducted at Agartala, Udaipur, Teliamura, Khowai, Mandai, Radhanagar & Dharmanagar with locals participating alongside with great zeal.

Painting competition was organised for the children of ‘Beer Bahadur School Dharmanagar in which 70 children participated.

The commitment of Assam Rifles for promoting social & environmental cause on the ‘World Environment Day’ was appreciated by one & all.
