AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): Even though suicide victim in her final note didn’t blame Big Bazar, rather pointed her blames towards harassment by Auxilium School Authorities but FIR against Big Bazaar, protests in front of the finest supermarket in Agartala has resulted with worst outcomes in Northeast state Tripura. With a major blow, after ABVP held protest today in front of Big Bazar followed by NSUI's yesterday's protest the insulted Big Bazar authority decided to shut their office in the afternoon. The closing of the office was followed immediately after ABVP staged a demonstration causing massive embarrassments for the customers and the management of the Big Bazar. However, West Agartala Police Station official confirmed that no instruction was given by police to the authority of Big Bazar to close their business centre, rather they closed the market at their own wish.
This news likely to generate much resentment it was the only grocery most comfortable for the consumers from students to senior citizens.
Also it was the centre for youngsters evening timepass at a safe space.
However, police couldn't say whether the market will be resumed or not.
West Agartala Police official told TIWN over phone, "Question doesn't arise that police would instruct Big Bazaar to close their centre. There was no such issue and why they closed their business centre police do not know".
On the other side, state Govt of Tripura has handed over Lahiri Debbarma suicide case to CID.
Addressing the media, Jishnu Debbarma said today, "This incident is very tragic and proper investigation is needed in the case.
"The incident took place on May 24 and on May 25 and a UD case (Unnatural Death case) had been taken on her unnatural death. On yesterday at 7.30 pm an FIR was lodged against Big Bazaar and Auxilium School authority at Sidhai Police Station by Lahiri's mother. We have ordered police already to investigate the case strictly", Jishnu Debbarma said.
DM West Sandeep Mahatme also told TIWN over phone, there was no such information regarding sealing of Big Bazar.
