AGARTALA, May 9 (TIWN): State BJP has once again made its stand clear that BJP doesn’t believe in any land division and only development is BJP’s sole target. While addressing in a press conference on various issues, BJP leader Pratima Bhowmik was asked by media on that particular matter. Reacting over the ongoing clashes among BJP and IPFT, Pratima Bhowmik said, “Whatever was held yesterday, it will not be repeated once again. This was the last and worst unwanted incident took place among BJP and the IPFTâ€. “Our stand was very clear from the beginning. We were centered only with socio-economic development. This land division issue was not in our discussion before alliance with IPFT and the separate land demand is a demand of the IPFT only. BJP has no link with thatâ€, she said. When BJP has been claiming that there is no tension exists anymore among BJP and its ally IPFT, CPI-M has hit the both parties referring yesterday's violence at Chailengta.
Yesterday there was a heavy clash near Chailengtha CRPF camp in the in Longtharai Valley subdivision. However, the BJP leader said such incident will not repeated. She also claimed, the agitation of the IPFT was result of wrong approach by few people (indirectly she targeted opposition).
On the other side, tensions have gripped ADC areas with the massive rallies, agitations were staged today by tribal regional parties opposing proposed citizenship bill led by the separate state aspirants today. One day hunger strike was observed at the Khumulwng today by the parties under ‘Joints Parliamentary Committee’ (JPC).They raised slogan ‘Stop Citizenship Act’ 1955 forthwith’. They also added in slogan ‘Tripura is a victim of illegal immigrants’.
