AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar slammed the BJP led Central Govt for Price hikes in fuel.
Bijan Dhar said, “The price hikes are resulting from the petrol and diesel prices. It’s a calculative step of the BJP Govt as fuel price hike means fares hike and hike in the carrying charges and thus the commodities too”.
“Recently Tripura also suffered from petrol crisis, but the whole event went without a single statement from the state govt. Govt should be more responsible on such matters”, Dhar said.
“In our time, they led various protests against the petrol crisis. The BJP as the opposition also pushed common people to protest massively. But when it’s their turn they are silent”, he said.
Today, the CPI-M has protested against the petrol price hike. A conference was held at the DC office in Agartala to protest against the increasing price hike of the petrol and diesel.
Addressing the hall, CPI-M leader Rama Das said, “This price hike in petrol is nothing new. Since the Modi Govt had come in power the petrol prices are in hike”.
Rama Das also said that CPI-M has sought permission for a protest rally in Agartala but didn’t get permission for it. As a result this hall was booked for the protest.
