AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): After the party offices at Agartala Motor stand were demolished, the CPI-M and Congress party leaders are now busy in Court running for hearing, so that the demolition can be delayed. At Agartala Motor stand after the party offices were demolished, the place has become unrecognizable and beautiful. Lots of space was gain where market-sheds can be built or can be used for road-expansions. But both Congress and CPI-M said that the BJP Govt should had give them time for the hearing. Calling the demolition as undemocratic, Congress gheraoed the DM office, whereas CPI-M strongly condemned it via press conferences.
But public are happy with the drive led by the BJP Govt.
CPI-M party offices, BJP occupied party offices and Congress party offices were demolished at the Agartala Old Motorstand area on yesterday morning. Some small shops were also demolished in the drive led by West DM Millind Ramteke. It was warned by West DM before 7 days to remove the party offices which have been constructed on Govt lands and accordingly the administration has taken action on Monday.
Atleast 10 such party offices were bulldozed today morning and similar drives will be taken place in many other places where party offices have been constructed over govt lands. On yesterday calling a press conference, the Congress had given a strict warning not to bulldoze their party offices, whereas CPI-M asked some more time so that legally things can be checked.
Addressing media during bulldozing of party offices, West DM Millind Ramteke said, “Already via press conferences, I made it clear before 7 days. On 3rd May through newspapers also we reminded the political parties about it. We also served them notices before bulldozing”.
State Govt has directed the administration to demolish all illegal party offices regardless Congress, CPI-M and BJP.
