Jolaibari, May 4 (TIWN): Following the acute drinking water crisis, locals at Jolaibari blocked Highway today demanding immediate solution of the ongoing drinking water problems.

The blockade was done at Baikhora, led massive traffic jam on that single route. Amid police and officials urges, the blockade was not withdrawn till 12 pm, which started from 8 am morning.

The villagers alleged, they have not been provided with proper water supply system by the govt of Tripura till day. 

The few water supplies are there but never functioned properly. Moreover, due to power cuts, the water crisis problem increasing more day by day.

The villagers have demanded  immediately water supply facility, diminishing of power cut problems. However, after the authority had assured, the blockade was withdrawn at around 12 pm.
