Agartala, 20th August (TIWN) Government is hopeful to normalize supply of sugar to all ration card holders through public distribution systems. Before puja, a high official team from the food department with evaluate on the issue and prepare a plan.
Sugar distribution is delayed and people are in cry for it, over the couple of days, the department will issue fresh notification for bidding and at the same time will relax terms and conditions so that sugar can be supplied before the festive season.
Government decided to continue the supply of sugar at subsidized rate through PDS system. To provide some relief some ration card holders in rural as well as urban areas, 1 kg of sugar would be provided to each ration card holder at the subsidized price of Rs. 13.50 per kg against the market price of Rs. 43 per kg, sources said.
