UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): While addressing on the occasion of Road Safety Week, Tripura Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy reminded the auto drivers to collect only fair charges from the passengers.
“I am also requesting the traffic dept and the SP to check the ongoing problems, which the passengers are facing due to the unruliness of the auto drivers. On the other side, we will review the fares. We have to calculate the market prices and the deserved fares for the drivers”, the Minister said.
“Carrying above 3 passengers are beyond rules and punishable offence. At the same time it’s a violation of High Court’s order”, the Minister added.
"The Govt also ordered police to work on this matter seriously and to take strict action against such lawbreakers".
Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy was addressing in Udaipur town hall in a programme conducted to mark Road Safety Week.
The Minister also mentioned about the importance of safe driving to avoid accidents.
