AGARTALA, March 20 (TIWN): Tensions have gripped the 10323 teachers of Tripura as after 3 months they are going lose their jobs if in the mean time, no alternative job can be managed for them. The teachers who were the production of CPI-M’s corruption were terminated on December 31st, 2017 in a SC’s final verdict. Recently one more teacher named Purandar Debbarma has breathed his last today among 10323 terminated teachers of Tripura. The 10323 teachers in his remembrance have paid tribute to him. Candles were lighted in front of his photo at Agartaka on March 16. On last March 11, the terminated 10323 teachers held a meeting in the Rabindra Bhawan. 10,323 teachers' jobs were cancelled by Tripura High Court in 2014 on May 7 after spotting irregularities in the recruitment process under Manik Sarkar led CPI-M Govt.

A division bench of the high court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, had passed then order May 7, 2014 terminating the jobs of 10,323 school teachers after Dec 31, citing irregularities in recruitment and SC has upheld High Court's 2014 verdict.

However, High Court asked the Tripura Govt to save 10323 teachers jobs, by appointing the deprived youths who filed cases against the irregularities in recruitment of 10323 teachers by the then Tripura Govt, but on that time Tripura Govt didn't appoint the deprived 59 youths and challenged the High Court verdict in the Supreme Court.

On March 29, 2017, the Supreme Court also held High Court's order and terminated the teachers. Supreme Court in a humanaitarian gesture to 10323 teachers mentioned that the teachers will continue their jobs till 2017, 31st Dec.

Later with the request of Tripura Govt, the Supreme Court added 6 months of ad hoc basis jobs for the teachers which will be end on June 11, 2018. Supreme Court issued 6th month's contract jobs for the teachers as Tripura Govt told Supreme Court, if teachers are terminated schools will be suffering from teachers crisis in the mid-session.

However, the BJP before the election had promised to save the career of the 10323 teachers, even though the teachers recruitment and their termination both took place under the CPI-M regime, but nothing is yet certain.
