BJP or  CPI-M ?  Tripura's Vote Counting tomorrow, Nation’s eye on Poll Outcome

AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): Political leaders continue breathless countdown with prayers ranging from Ram, Rahim, Jesus, Hanuman to Lenin, Marx & Fredrick Angles for divine intervention to save their political career. Just 1 day left, people will come to know who is going to rule Tripura for next 5 years as the vote counting is tomorrow. In other two poll-bound Northeast states as Nagaland, Meghalaya's election results will also be declared by tomorrow. In last two days various meetings were held, Central Election Commission team had arrived and inspecting counting halls, training given to service voters on Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS), which has been introduced first time in Tripura. Securities across 20 locations of counting with 59 counting halls have also kept tightened.

The Central Forces will be controlling the safety issues throughout the counting day in Tripura on March 3rd. There will be 3 layers of securities : Outer layers which will be controlled by Central forces, but helped by state police and TSR. The middle layer and the inner layer will be purely handled by central forces.At least 100 metres from the counting centres will be kept under section-144, all the District Administrations have announced today in all Districts. 

The counting will be conducted in Sectors, with 20 locations as follows :

1) Among the 20 sectors for West Tripura at Umakanta Academy the voting counting halls to be set.

2)  At Sepahijala Dist we have 2 counting halls : One is Sonamura another is Bishalgarh and 3rd one is Jampui Jala",

3) 3 counting centres will be at Gomati : One is at Udaipur, another is at Amarpur and the 3rd is at Korbook.

4) 3 counting centres at South Tripura are Belonia, Santir Bazar, Sabroom,

 5) At North Tripura we have 3 counting centres : Panisagara, Kanchanpur, Dharmanagar and in Uankoti the counting centres are Kailashahar, Kumarghat,

6) In Khowai Dist the counting centres are Khowai, Teliamura. In Dhalai Dist the  counting centres are : Kamalpur, Ambassa. Apart from that Jirania and Gandachara will have counting centres.

Seeing the sensitivity of the Jampui-Jala counting center and similar places, Election Commission has directed Dist Administration to impose section 144 around 200 meters of that counting center.Problems are being faced by media as even after all valid documents it has been said that they can't carry their mobile phones at there.

However, as earlier announced by DGP A K Sukla the  toll free number 15103 will remain open for the common people via which they can register their complaints in case of any untoward incident during the poll hours. The helpline will remain active 24 X 7 to help the voters, which will be helpful also for police to maintain the law and order.

Tripura election was held on February 18 followed by a set of re-polling on February 26. The counting is scheduled to be conducted on March 3rd. There are 59 counting halls and 20 locations kept for counting.
