Rains fall short, seasonal agricultural | AGARTALA, August 4 (TIWN): The state’s seasonal agricultural produce is likely to suffer from drought condition unless the weak monsoon rejuvenated very shortly, a source in the Department of Agriculture said here today. Speaking to reporters here, the minister said that every district hospital now operates a blood bank and the state is now expecting to operationalized super-specialty health services at the apex healthcare institution – Gobinda Ballabh Pant Hospital in Agartala. BRU Refugees: Committee formed to look | AGARTALA, Aug 1 (TIWN): Union Ministry of Home Affairs has constituted a 7 – member committee to look into the deplorable condition of Bru refugees lodged in the relief camps of Tripura’s North District. This was stated by Swapan Saha, Secretary of Revenue and Rehabilitation on Friday. Speaking to reporters at civil secretariat he said that Rajiv Gauba, Additional Secretary of MHA is the chairman of the committee, they are schedule to visit the relief camps before August 31st . Finally foodgrains by sea | CALCUTTA, July 31 (TIWN Exclusive): A 'vested clique' comprising of topmost state, railways and FCI officials have been finally stumped and Tripura will start receiving a substantial quota of foodgrains by sea through Bangladesh. "This clique which consists of a top state government official who ganged up with the railways and FCI went to the extent of convincing Tripura government that it would cost less to bring foodgrains by railways through Assam," said a food department official in Agartala over phone.
