OTPC Palatana; PGT to conclude on Wednes | UDAIPUR, June 3 (TIWN): After almost 17 days, BHEL engineers and specialists are in position to complete the Performance Guarantee Test (PGT) of UNIT-I of the 726.6MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Thermal Power Plant in Palatana by tomorrow morning. On Tuesday top level BHEL engineer told TIWN over phone, "So far the PGT is concerned we are almost certain to complete it by tomorrow. It should have been completed by Tuesday evening; but a short timetime shut down on 31st May mid-night delayed the completion by Wednesday.Already progress is on highly satisfactory note. More than four or five times target of full load power generation (363.3MW) was achieved. Two power plants to be converted into co | AGARTALA, June 3 (TIWN): Aiming to increase the power generation at Rukhia and Barmura Gas thermal projects, the state government has decided to convert both the plants into combine-cycle mode, said Power Minister Manik Dey here today.While speaking after laying the foundation stone for new building of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) at Bhuturia, he said the state cabinet has already cleared a proposal to convert Rukhia and Barmura Gas Thermal plants into combined-cycle mode to increase power generation.“The government will soon ink a Memorandum of Understanding with NEEPCO to undertake the plan. Palatana : PGT begins, normal production | AGARTALA, May 31 (TIWN): As reported by tripurainfoway.com, the OTPC switched on the Palatana thermal power unit-I today around 4.30 pm in presence of BHEL engineers, official sources confirmed here tonight.However, the plant was placed under shut down after the unit developed some minor problems. At 7.30 pm, the plant has got operational producing 13 MW power till 9.30 pm.OTPC sources claimed, the engineers would try to operate the turbines with full-load after midnight.
