AGARTALA, Jan 20 (TIWN): For the first time, Northeastern state Tripura will witness a different kind of Election this time, which will be totally "Free & Fair", such hopes have been expressed by Tripura BJP Observer Sunil Deodhar after he held a meeting with Deputy Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain today. Addressing a press conference in the Party Headquarter at Krishnanagar, Deodhar said, "Till day Tripura has witnessed election contests between the state govt and the opposition party, but this time it will experience a party vs. party's competition. I have met the Deputy Election commissioner along with our Election Cell In-charge - Badal Goswami and placed our concerns and demands. We have received very positive response from the Commissioner including the issues of Election rigging".
"We have raised the issue of Election rigging and the Deputy Commissioner told us that rigging, fake voting will be no more possible due to the modern technology will be used in the election", said Deodhar.
"The Election Commissioner further said that as per the Model Code of Conduct, no booth office, party flags, festoons can be in Govt lands. We further told him in case of that all parties should be equally treated. However, there is a rule of the state govt and following it the action will be taken soon", added Deodhar.
"Regarding the fake voters we held talks and the Commissioner said that in no way anybody can caste fake vote. Party cadres will also removed from the Election duties", he said.
The BJP leader further said that against 7 Govt Officials they have raised allegation and demanded that the officials should be removed from their duties.
"Regarding MP Jharna Das Baidya's violent speech, we asked what action EC has taken against her and in reply there was no answer yet but the Commissioner said he will look into the matter", said Deodhar.
Deodhar also asked all cable channels not to show anymore Tripura Govt's advertisement as model code of conduct have been implemented. If they show any state govt advertisement strict actions will be taken against the channels.
"We have also discussed on the attacks upon the BJP activists and how both party workers were injured . In this regard proper patrolling have begun already and during election hours in every areas including small roads also we have demanded for patrolling to avoid all kinds of untoward incidents including riggings", added Dedhar.
"The Election will be connected with New Delhi via webcasting and there will be no chance for further rigging", added Deodhar.
