AGARTALA, Sep 25 (TIWN): The CPI(M) Unakoti District Committee submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate and Collector, Tamal Majumdar (IAS), demanding a fair and transparent voter list revision process. The delegation, led by state committee secretary Biswarup Goswami, met with the district magistrate at his office in Gauranagar.
The CPI(M) emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency and fairness in the electoral process, stating that this is crucial for building trust among voters. Swapan Baishnab said, "Voter list revision is an integral part of the democratic process. Only when transparency and impartiality are maintained can the confidence of ordinary voters be retained."
The CPI(M) urged the administration to take immediate action to ensure a neutral and fear-free election process.
