AGARTALA, Dec 23 (TIWN): Even though Tripura now has a trauma centre, which was later announced as Trauma care centre, but till day per month 40 trauma patients have to send via flight to other state for emergency treatment. In this condition trauma centre just has remained as an imaginary medical care at GB hospital, useless for the common people. Already opposition BJP has exposed another heavy scam of Tripura Health Dept with trauma centres funds. BJP claimed that since 2006 funds had been releasing for various trauma centres construction for Tripura, but till day the trauma centres were not inaugurated and the fund was swallowed without utilization. Even after 2006’s various funds sanctioning for trauma centres, per month 40 patients are taken through flights for emergency treatment. In 2006 for Kulai Dist Hospital , Dharmanagar hospital the funds were released but after decades Tripura has got 1st trauma centre at GB hospital without any expert doctors of this field.

Addressing press, Tripura BJP Spokesperson Ashok Sinha said, “Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in his address during trauma centre inauguration said that he first felt about trauma centre’s importance after the serial blast of 2008".

"But whereas the serial blast held  in 2008’s 1st October, but the trauma centre fund of Rs. 160 lakhs first was released in 2006, under Manik Sarkar’s Chief Ministry for Kulai Hospital”.

“When in 2006, the trauma centre’s fund was released, in 2017’s Dec 12, ahead of Election, Manik Sarkar understood about the importance of trauma centre here”, said Sinha to media.

“Moreover, before the inauguration, the trauma centre was already inaugurated in Govt website in July month-2017. Even after the 2nd time's inauguration of GB trauma centre, Tripura has no trauma specialist. Not a single doctor in Govt list, is capable to do neurosurgery in this trauma centre. If without training and degree the surgery is done the Doctor will be jailed as Supreme Court is now very strict on such matters”, said Sinha.

“An accident patient has to undergo through operation within half an hour of the accident. But, Tripura has no doctor trained in it, which is not only dangerous but also illegal”, said Sinha.

The trauma centre at GB was inaugurated by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, in the presence of health minister Badal Chowdhury on Tuesday, where  Manik sarkar claimed that after serial blast he felt the importance of trauma centre in Tripura. Reacting over Sarkar's speech BJP has brought this serious charges of looting trauma centre's funds since 2006.
