AGARTALA, Dec 10 (TIWN): CPI-M Govt turned Central funded ‘Disaster Management’ into utter chaos as lakhs of people undergoing pathetic sufferings. State Govt turned mute spectator rather than deploying Disaster Management trainees and staffs during the National Highway emergency situation as now a two-hours journey have turned six-hours journey with many accidents already took place due to the dangerous condition of National Highways. Today throughout evening the Amtali road remained paused with reports of some accidents without much injuries or death. But what surprises is that in such an emergency situation, Disaster Management remained absent, whereas lack of police and traffic man felt across the journey of the daily passengers.
The unseasonal rains are causing unwanted emergency situations over National Highways.
The situation has emerged due to the improper management of Municipal Corporations throughout the year, ongoing double lane project and ofcourse PWD’s negligence of road maintenance.
The long distance’s drivers will not move their vehicles tomorrow much on the route due to the paralyzed condition.
However, this situation could be tackled well, if Disaster Management had come in action. In other flood months of the year also it was seen whether NDRF were seen in capital city Agartala but on highways and other rural areas, they were missing.
The National Highway may turn more pathetic if rain doesn’t stop.
