AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): Even though, nothing could be fixed by Tripura BJP when PM Modi is going to deliver his first address before the election, but Meghalaya BJP has successfully managed Dec 16 for Modi's rally.
However, Amit Shah, BJP National President will visit here in Tripura on December 18.
Time has already gone that Tripura needed the first motivating speech from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier, it was heard that PM Modi will come in Tripura at least 2 / 3 times before election but upsetting the all setting Modi is flying for Meghalaya first.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Meghalaya, where elections are due early next year, on December 16 to launch the BJP campaign and inaugurate a party office in the state.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh was supposed to inaugurate the Bharatiya Janata Party office here on Thursday but he cancelled his visit.
"Modi will spearhead the election campaign on December 16 at Polo Ground. His campaign will boost the party's prospects in the state," state BJP President Shibun Lyngdoh said today.
The Congress-led Meghalaya United Alliance government has been in power for two consecutive terms.
The BJP, which had no presence in the assembly, hopes to win 40 of the 60 seats in the Meghalaya Assembly.
