SABROOM, Dec 7 (TIWN): After NFR general manager visited Sabroom Railway Station at Sabroom Central Government is prioritizing to the railway extension from Agartala to Sabroom at the earliest.
While talking to TIWN Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) General Manager NK Prasad said that once rail connectivity is extended from Agartala to Sabroom, this border subdivision would emerge as the gateway to Southeast Asia.
Sabroom is Tripura’s southernmost border sub-division.
The NFR general manager added that India’s central government is prioritizing to the railway extension from Agartala to Sabroom as part of its “Act East Policy.”
“We had a plan to connect Sabroom with Agartala by 2018, but could not do so due to the long monsoon. The ongoing railway expansion project should be completed by March, 2019,” said the NFR general manager.
