AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Tripura Opposition MLA Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday brought another serious allegation against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, linking him with chit fund directly. Talking to TIWN on Thursday morning Ratan Lal Nath exposed the bonding of Chief Minister with 'Jiban Sambriddhi' chit fund group's owner Ratan Kumar Chowdhury to whom Chief Minister gave his wife's property as 'power of attorney'. Actually the issue was raised by the MLA in the Assembly hitting the CPI-M Govt's denial of CBI investigation in Rose Valley and other chit fund cases. Nath said, "Why CM's in-laws house shared property with chit fund owner Ratan Chowdhury ?" In this regard, Ratan Lal Nath in an interview with TIWN detailed about the issue, which he tried to hit in the Assembly.

Nath said, "CPI-M has been constantly denying the allegations of its link with Chit fund and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar always has always  said that he didn't know about chit fund in details earlier. Without his knowledge he (Manik Sarkar) was attending various programmes of chit fund".

"So, my question is if so, why CM had given his wife's Krishna Nagar properties to Ratan Kumar Chowdhury? Generally we give lands to whom? The people whom we trust the most ! So, you can imagine how much bonding among chit fund owner and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was maintaining", alleged Nath.

“A case was registered in 2013 against Ratan Kumar Chowdhury, the owner of Jiban Samriddhi. He is in bail right now, under whom 4.5 "ganda" of land was kept as power-of-attorney which actually belonged to CM’s wife Panchali Bhattacharjee”, Nath told TIWN.

“What level of trust CM had upon the Chit Fund owner that he kept his wife’s land to him”, said Ratan Lal Nath added.

However, many questions raised by opposition earlier about CM's silence about chit fund scams but this time Ratan Lal Nath's charges caused heavy faceloss for the CM.Why Chief Minister Manik Sarkar didn't bother about the then Finance Minister Badal Choudhury's concerns about the mushrooming of chit fund companies in Tripura ?

Later, Badal Choudhury was shifted from finance, revenue, whereas in 2013 when Sudipta Sen was arrested at Calcutta all the chit fund companies heads in Tripura were allowed to escape instead of being arrested. The then Finance Minister Badal Choudhury in 2000's Assembly strictly alarmed the state about increasing chit fund companies in Tripura but on that time Manik Sarkar was the Law Minister, who didn't take any action against the companies radical progresses throughout the state.

On 1999 a law was passed in after opposition Congress held protest in the Assembly. The Act was “The Tripura Protection of Interest of Depositors (In Financial Establishments ) Act". That time Manik Sarkar also the Law Minister of Tripura, but it took 7 years more to get a print out of the law in the Govt offices, but Manik Sarkar as the Law Minister was abide by all laws regarding Chit-fund, allowed Rose Valley disaster in state.

Sarkar’s “intimacy” with Chit fund groups were alleged, linked various times who not only promoted chit fund but also allowed the thieves to loot the public funds. Barman also raised question, why after 2013 when Sudipta Sen was arrested, Manik Sarkar allowed the chit fund scamsters to escape from state?
