AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Amidst CPI-M's allegations about central deprivation, it has been known that under Manik Sarkar's Chief Ministry Rs. 1 lakh crore was sanctioned from the Central Govt in last 20 years. BJP Observer, Sunil Deodhar while revealing the data, said, "With 1 lakh crores Manik Sarkar could make Tripura just like Singapore, but for Tripura's development the Chief Minister has done nothing". Recently the CPI-M Govt has raised allegation that under RD Dept. Tripura has been deprived with MGNREGA funds. Reacting over the statement of the CPI-M Govt, MP Prahlad Singh Patel said, "This is totally a lie and there are total misuse of the central funds. Under rural development no work has been done by the Govt".

"On the one side central deprivation is alleged, but on the other side not a single road was constructed under PMGSY", said Patel.

"First utilize the existing Yojnas before you blame the centre", said Patel.

The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is a nationwide plan in India to provide good all-weather road connectivity to unconnected villages.

MP Saroj Pandey, who also visited Tripura said,  "A federal system run through the functioning of State and Centre both. Centre has given 5 National Highways and works on 4 Highways have started, rail connectivity doesn't need any introduction in Tripura. But the State Govt has totally failed to utilize the Central projects".

"Chief Minister Manik Sarkar since 20 years of his Chief Ministry instead of developing the state is trying to portray his own image with a wise look", added Pandey.

On the other side, from PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar all have been protesting against the NITI Ayog saying planning commission was better in the federal system. However, the main factor under planning commission was it never checked the previous years records and whatever was asked by the state the centre used to give.

The NITI Aayog’s blessing turned heavy on the CPI-M Govt and many times the state had seen so many political turmoil in the state due to NITIAayog. Whoever is supporting NITI Aayog is becoming the enemy of the CPI-M in Tripura. After NITI Aayog members visited Tripura and questioned about the utilization of central funds then Tripura CM lost his temper during NE Summit-2016 at Pragna Bhawan and after that what the Chief Minister said was enough reason for the oppositions to burn his effigies across the state.

Sunil Deodhar in this regard said, "Manik Sarkar didn't do anything for Tripura. It's CPI-M's plan to keep a 'clean' image in front and to continue mass looting in behind. Showing off about Manik Sarkar's clean image is the intrigue of CPI-M's vote bank here. Same was done at West Bengal with Jyoti Basu".
