TIWN Nov 8, 2017

AGARTALA, Nov 8 (TIWN): Even before the election, state BJP has got 6 MLAs, who will launch the Assembly Session on behalf of BJP. As a part of official formality, 6 MLAs who left Trinamool to join BJP on August 7 have met the Assembly Speaker Ramendra Ch. Debnath and submitted a memorandum seeking recognition as BJP MLA. The 6 MLAs are : MLA Sudip Roy Barman (6 Agartala), MLA Asish Saha (Bordowali-8), MLA Pranajit Singho Roy (R K Pur), MLA Diba Ch. Rankhol, MLA Biswabondhu Sen (56-Dharmanagar), MLA Dilip Sarkar (Badharghat).MLA Diba Ch. Rankhol to represent as the opposition leader during the Assembly Session. In the last Assembly the MLAs had been representing Trinamool but all of them were BJP bound but this time the MLAs to come up openly with full BJP recognition. This will be the first Assembly Session that CPI-M and BJP will meet face to face with debates about state / centre issues which is to begin from Nov 13.
This has created much tension among the Congress MLAs who have however officially left with 3 MLAs and unofficially 2 MLAs with MLA Ratan lal Nath’s open BJP supporting (without party changing officially).
CPI-M however is against BJP’s entrance in the Assembly as the speaker Ramendra Ch. Debnath has signaled said, “The six legislators who joined the BJP on August 7 are yet to formally seek recognition as BJP MLAs. Now the scope to recognise them as BJP legislators is very limited as there is lack of time to do the necessary formalities for that”.
Assembly session for the winter to begin from Nov 13.
