AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): ‘Food culture is my right and what meat I will eat only I will decide, either got or cow”, recently CM Manik Sarkar said. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his whole cabinet always hit Go-Raksha term to mock the RSS, BJP, VHP but they never utter words against Cattle smuggling which is a dark reality of Tripura’s Indo-Bangla border zone areas. The CPI-Ms are also silent when SP BSF Deputy Commandant of 145 Btn Dipak Kumar Mandal has been critically injured by Sonamura based smugglers on Monday. However, smugglers existence has been proven as SP Sepahijala Sudipta Das himself has accepted it.

‘Atleast 20 25 cattle smugglers attacked the Deputy Commandant of BSF Dipak Kumar Mandal’, SP Sudipta Das told TIWN. ‘Around 15 cattle they had been smuggling  via NEEPCO (Monarchak) area. When BSF tried to stop them, they smugglers attacked upon BSF and amidst the attacking hours the BSF commandant was injured seriously’, added SP.

‘The driver has been arrested but for the investigation we will not disclose the names of the accused but hopefully we will arrest all the culprits’, SP said. However, why the names of the arrested man was hide it has generated suspense.

BSF Deputy Commandant of 145 Btn Dipak Kumar Mandal has been injured seriously at Kalapania area of Sonamura while counterattacking smugglers at there but now fighting with life at Kolkata based Hospital. TIWN recovered exclusive footage after visiting the spot where Commandant’s blood spots have been bleed the soil. The incident took place at around 2 AM of Sunday night at Kalapania’s Shalkhet area in front of Forest Dept Official. 3 round of shooting was informed by the locals of Kalapania. TIWN visited Kalapania and talked to the locals. One of the locals said, "During the counterattacking hours the BSF Commandant was injured.

We heart dangerous sounds of shooting at night 2 AM, which made all of us afraid". However, proofs of firing were found on Monday at that Smuggling prone area. Kalapnai’s local houses were also hit with the firing but whether the smugglers vehicle has injured him or due to accident the commandant he was injured nothing has been known yet.

With serious injured Commandant D K Mandal was referred to GB Hospital from Sonmaura. But in the morning the commandant again was referred to Kolkata based hospital with serious injuries. GB hospital staffs are also lightlipped to say in which hospital D K Mandal was transferred.

Tripura has become a narcotic den, which was reported by TIWN constantly. Even on Sunday evening 2 culprits were arrested while smuggling a camel.

Apart from cattle smuggling, Tripura suffers from Ganja smuggling and other similar crimes. Due to lack of action, intentional delay of border fencing are leading such incidents.

Moreover, when BSF is taking actions they are suppressed by various false cases. Ganjas are produced openly at Sonamura like tea gardens but due to lack of actions and nexus with smugglers state Tripura has turned jus as a Narcotic den for criminals.

Sonamura police has clearly said that they do not know about the details about BSF Deputy Commandants injury incident.
