Rajdhani Express yet to function : CPI-M raised impossible demands of 'Low Cost Passenger Fares'

AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Even before the Rajdhani Express begin to function in Tripura, the CPI-M Ministers are blueprinting the next demand with something which is impossible.

Tripura Govt knew it well that Rajdhani is high costly train service but still during the inauguration of Tripura Sundari Express, Tripura Ministers asked Suresh Prabhu, "Why are you not affording for Rajdhani service ?"

On that time, Suresh Prabu said, "Rajdhani is not afforded because nobody demanded for it. So, now I promise Central Govt will give Tripura a Rajdhani soon".

Finally after above 1 year Tripura has received Rajdhani Express which will start its maiden visit from Oct-19 most likely (From the day of Diwali). But nothing is sure as it may start from Sunday also as nothing has been officially announced.

But Tripura Transport Minister Manik Dey told TIWN, "Rajdhani's fare is too high. If a ticket costs same as flight fare then Rajdhani is meaningless".

"Atleast for Northeast states the fares must be low", Dey added.

However, giving Tripura Rail Service is just a loss for the revenue as the Govt has no intention to increase the business, to export some items even after Suresh Prabhu's suggestion of developing Bamboo-products' exports via BG connectivity.

However, now it's sure that the CPI-M will raise demand for downing Rajdhani's fares in coming days.
