AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): Resentment have brewed among the locals, visitors, priests of Laxmi Narayan Bari AS various idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses have kept in negligence on the 'ghat' (embankments) of Laxmi Narayan Bari lake.
Priests of the temple alleged that to control the water pollution people do not throw their Gods or Goddesses' idols in the lake. "They just left these idols on the stairs and do not throw into water for pollution related issues, but from Govt side there is no attempt to clear it", said the priest.
These idols sometimes go under human feet unknowingly and sometimes dogs are peeing on it.
"When rain comes automatically the idols colours and soils are getting mixed on the lake water. So in which way water pollution has been controlled ?", said the priest.
Such negligence of the Agartala Municipality has created resentment among the common people here.
At Howarh river also after 1 week of the immersion Durga idols were not cleared resulted mass water pollution.
