AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Demanding CBI probe in Tripura's TV journalist Santanu Bhowmik's murder case, state journalists have shown agitation on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in front of Gandhi statue at Circuit house. The journalists, photographers, editors participated in the protest from various media houses, alleged that when a 50 members of journalists' team visited Mandai on Sep-26 they held talk with local people of that area but in every points, police and local people's claims were different and even there were mismatch of talks among the police officials also. Subol Dey, Editor of a state daily newspaper said, "A dead body was need on that day and unfortunately Santanu became the victim".The murder has been termed as pre-plan by the agitators as Santnau even after 3 / 4 hours of his injuries was not taken to hospital, neither any ambulance was brought for Santnau.

"Even at Mandai hospital, there were ambulances but police did nothing to save Santanu and he died out of bleeding", said agitators at Circuit house.

"How amidst Section-144 Santanu was killed ? If police couldn't control the situation, then why no re-enforcement had been arranged to bring control over the situation ?", asked journalists.

Journalists also condemned the ruling party's attempt to prove nexus of Journalists and Opposition parties, keeping their election in front.

"The other political parties as BJP, IPFT demanded also CBI probe but it's their demand.  Our demand we raised much before them", said journalists.

"Chief Minister till day has not called us to listen to our plea. Via High Court or Supreme Court CBI probe can be asked but CBI is must", said the agitators.

However, Chief Minister eventhough didn't meet the major section of journalists who are demanding CBI probe, but he met the small number of Press Club led journalists' team who demanded SIT-formation for Santnau's murder case.

The CBI probe demanders whose numbers are around 90 %, but delaying of CBI investigation is generating resentment among the journalists.

"How can SIT do justice to it as SIT is led by Tripura Police and police themselves are accused in Santanu murder case", said journalists.
